And those who know Your name put their trust in You,
for You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.
The deep red ribbon of God’s love and sacrifice holds us while walking through the darkness of our valleys. When we can’t be sure of anything else, we can cling to that one truth – the reality of His love. He sings over His children during each midnight and calms our fears in the chaos and filth. We can free fall into His hands and give Him access to everything we hold dear.
Hand over the keys to your heart and every possible outcome of your life. As you release everything to Him, His perfect love sends fear away, His healing balm can finally be applied and He will bring you into a deeper knowledge of Himself.
Sometimes life is so painful, all we can do is focus on one thing we know to be true to get through the day. God’s love for us is a foundation on which we can be grounded to ride out our storm. When we believe that God’s love for us is real, unconditional and perfect, we can fall back onto Him with a trust that is expectant.
We can expect that He has a plan for us, and it’s a good plan. We can expect that He will walk with us through this plan every single minute and give us what we need to sustain us along the way.
We can expect that we will come out on the other side, and when we do, we’ll look more like Him. “God’s love is not a pampering love, it’s a perfecting love.” – (James MacDonald, When Life is Hard) Sometimes that perfecting is not what we want to be a part of. It hurts to know something about us must change or be given up, but it’s all wrapped up in that good plan He has for us.
“And those who know Your name put their trust in You” – When we truly know who He is (and a huge part of Him is His absolute perfect love for us) it’s easier to trust and press into Him, to accept whatever He says needs to happen, and to blindly follow through with the next actions He’s asking us to take.
He is a gentleman, though. God will not break in and invade. He waits to be invited, and when you give Him the keys of full access, He will come in to guide, restore, heal, take out the garbage and renovate your life. Trust Him for He is good.
