While I’m working on the website facelift, it leaves less time for blogging, so this one will be shorter than normal. BUT I’m super excited about the new website look and I can’t wait to launch it!
Here’s a look at a different painting in the Unlocking Old Secrets collection. You can see the progression for painting III here. If you didn’t catch the short story written just for these paintings, you can read the Fictionette here.
Enjoy a short slideshow and some explanations in the comments. Look for this painting to be available at West End Gallery’s Opening reception on May 1st.

Just a little sketchy guideline to be sure each item is on the board as I intend.
There’s something about pears…they are so much fun to paint.
Hinting at that book. I spent about three sessions painting the book Unlocking Old Secrets I, so I was very careful to get the book angles right the first time.
Having fun with the fabric.
Clear glass is a bit intimidating, but I tackled it….go me.
More yummy fabric. Notice the temperature changes in the shadow of the newly painted fabric. It’s all gray, but there are cool grays and warm grays together. I love doing that.
Oh boy, that stick was fun to paint.
And last but not least, the key, which was also very fun to paint.
